Message from President and CEO
Yamama Masudaen produces consistent tea from production, manufacturing and sales at the southern end of the Makinohara Plateau in the northern part of Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture, since 1870, when the development of the Makinohara Plateau began, we have been cultivating mountains here and making tea plantations, and we have been making tea for more than 150 years for five generations. In 1986, we were selected as a designated tea plantation for offering tea, and we donated new tea to the Imperial family.
In 1991, we started exporting Japanese tea to spread it overseas, and now Masudaen tea is popular in more than 20 countries and regions. In recognition of these efforts, in 2015, we received the “Emperor’s Cup,” which is the highest award in the category of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Festival. We were able to receive the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award for the second time at the competition in 2015, following 2003.
Masudaen has also promoted measures for quality, security and safety as a food factory, but in order to further strengthen its quality control system, we acquired the certification of the food safety management system “FSSC 22000” in 2016. In addition , we will deliver “joy”, “impression” and “deliciousness” to many people in Japan and abroad.
